Vital GUI turns off my monitor

I think this is related with OpenGL/DirectX or whatever Vital is using for accelleration nowadays. This didn’t happen before I upgraded from 1.08 to 1.55.

When I open Vital on my Iiyama monitor, sometimes it will simply turn the monitor off after I interact with Vital GUI. On my 2nd monitor (a Dell Ultrasharp) it causes graphical glitches that distort and show “ghosts” of Vital UI around the screen, way outside the confines of Vital’s window. I am pretty certain this bug is causing my other monitor to turn off.

This happens only with Vital, and only since 1.55.

Edit: The same thing also happens when I open Vital standalone

I wasn’t able to capture the image of this ghosting unfortunately.

OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
Host: Ableton Live 12.0.25
Vital: 1.55
CPU: i7-1335U
GPU: Intel Iris Xe 96EU Mobile

Edit: The exact same issue happens with Vital standalone.

I think there’s been a similar post about Intel Xe doing that for someone else

Edit: found it
This thread

In case that helps!

Thanks but the answer doesn’t seem related. I also know it’s Vital because when I pull Vital window to the other monitor then that one glitches out (but the Dell doesn’t shut down). I…e I’m getting graphic glitches on the monitor I pull Vital window(s) to, and only that monitor, and only when/if Vital window is shown.

No I agree, it’s likely Vital. You may have to go back down to 1.0.7 unless youve already created many presets in 1.5.5 :frowning:
