Turn all the knobs and save as new patch every time something strike you as interesting. Make categories for yourself, “today I am making snare drum sounds” and try to make a set number of snares that satisfies your personal esthetics. It is all about good taste and there are no formula for importing others taste so you have to get acquainted with your own. Some patches are “mini songs” that take up all the audio space whilst some sounds are simple tones that shines when you play a melody on the keyboard. If you are heaving fun you are doing it right.
