Windows tool: Collect all fav presets in a sound bank

Hello,

I have programmed a small tool that collects all my favorite Vital presets and saves them in an extra sound bank.

Tested with Windows 11 (64-bit), proper GUI to come.

Current features V1.0:

  • collect all favorite presets
  • Create folder on desktop with all presets
  • Create Vital Soundbank on desktop (for sharing with friends)
  • Recognize missing favorites (e.g. if folder/file has been renamed)

Other features/options I am currently working on:

  1. create/move generated folder directly to Vital preset folder
  2. remove all invalid favorites from Vital’s favorites list (clean up)
  3. remove all existing favorites

If you have any other ideas, please let me know!

Cheers
NBG

Windows Defender recognizes this file as a virus and automatically deletes it.

Hello Tweaker,

Windows Defender doesn’t complain for me, and the files are not really deleted, but only moved to quarantine and can be restored.

I also uploaded the .exe to VirusTotal and had it checked: “5/72 security vendors flagged this file as malicious”

Unfortunately there is little I can do about this, which is probably also due to the small file size and the fact that a zip library is required to create the soundbank. This is then probably “suspicious” for some anti-virus vendors

Update V1.1 is in the folder above:

@Tweaker: I just get a message that it won’t run and I have to confirm that I’m sure I want it to run on my own  I think it’s just because your security settings are too strict and the tool doesn’t have a manifest (yet).

The funny thing is: NBG hosts it on Onedrive (=Microsoft) without any problems and Windows Defender (=Microsoft) doesn’t like it

Conclusion: it runs and does what it should.

Works so far, what I personally am still missing:

  1. Option to “un-favourite” all favorites
  2. Option to delete all favorite presets (= files)

The second point is particularly important if you copy the collected favorite presets back into the Vitals presets folder, otherwise the presets will be displayed twice under “all”.

PS: Presets with the same file name are only copied once into the new folder, they should perhaps be given ascending numbers after the actual file name.
