Why does the header do this? (skin designer)

i highlighted the body portion of the header, how can i get rid of these vertical pillars?

I didn’t design the header to have its own background color so it may not work the way you want.

I do have some changes coming to the skin designer at some point (in the next big release) that should give you more flexibility.
