What is FactoryContent.vitalbank file for

Hi all, reinstalling to a mid 2015 iMac 3.3ghz Quad core i5 with 32gb RAM running Sequoia 15.1.1. I downloaded the install .pkg and a file called FactoryContent.Vitalbank. Anyone know what this file is, what its for or how to unpack / install it ? On a more general topic, is Vital even installable or runnable in any Macos above 10.11. Under 15.1 both standalone and Component (AU) plugin crashes immediately,

.vitalbanks are normally preset packs, so to speak.
I would be guessing but I assume this is the favtory content, which likely should automatically handle itself when you install vital.
If not, you can try opening it through the Vital menu (hamburger icon, so to speak)

It should work with Sequoia but honestly with a 2015 mac, id only update the OS if you have too
As someone whos work with Apple products for many years and also worked for Apple, I strongly recommend only updating if you must, planned obsolescence is real on the software side of things (just my opinion though)

Thanks for the comprehensive answer. I bought this refurbushed 2015 iMac to replace my 2009 one that cant be upgraded any further. It came with Sequoia pe-installed.

After porting and re-installing all my sotfware packs, I’m finding a lot wont run in Macos 15.1. Grrr. Vital is one of the products, paid for mind you, that installs but crashes. The .vitalbank file came with the download and since I cant get the product to run, wondered if that file was maybe missing causing the issue. Seems thats not the case though.

Try the Vital Discord server there might be some folks that can help!
A bit unlucky though that’s all :frowning:
