Hey everyone, I’m making another free preset pack and would like to get some community input. I know what I want, but every person has a different sound so my sound might not necessarily be your sound. The challenge with doing sound design for a large span of genres is that you need to make sure you are not implementing your own sound into that preset. The thing that makes a person’s tracks unique is all of the unique sounds that listeners can relate to that person. So if my sounds have a general similarity to them, I don’t want to be directly influencing other people’s sounds.
If you have a specific sound that you want, don’t hesitate to suggest it. And I don’t produce in all genres, so I don’t know what every genre needs. I think I’ve done a pretty good job researching them, but nobody’s perfect
So enough rambling, if you want suggest a sound and I’ll see what I can do
First time ever I request/suggest a sound and I feel a bit intimidated, but here we go. The synth in the very first notes of Celestica, by Crystal Castles.
I like seq and arp type presets, sounds that are not absurdly detuned,
sounds with filtersweeps, and sounds that have noticeable but not dramatic modulation and saturation/distortion. Thanks for sharing your creations!
