Hi Team - really excited to download Vital after watching several tutorials on creating sounds. I’ve loaded the VST3 in Reaper (running on Windows 10) and tried the Standalone app.
On both, the sound gets very glitchy after just a few notes.
I’m sure there’s a simple setting somewhere, but could someone please help? My keyboard is a Korg Kross 2 and it’s running via asio4all.
Hi,
A bit late to answer, and I hope you already resolved the problem but just in case…
In the Standalone app, make sure you choose the right driver in the preferences (accessible by clicking on the Vital logo) and try to choose a bigger buffer size. Same in Repaer for the buffer size (in Preferences → Audio). A bigger buffer size will increase a bit the latency but should correct the glitches problem. If it’s still glitchy at 2048, then the problem is probably the sound card you’re using.
If you use asio4all I suppose you don’t have an external usb sound card? This could limit considerably the use of VSTs and any audio treatment on your system. If you do, it should come with a dedicated ASIO driver.
your processor might not be strong enough. i wouldn’t say it’s the sound card. but the buffer size on the sound card may be of key importance. also try going into the Advanced tab and selecting 1x (draft) oversampling and see if that helps. if you get the same glitch after you try 8x oversampling in that same Advanced section then it means your processor is wanting.
