Vital Crashing in Ableton Live 12

Hi,

I’ve seen this bug reported on here a few times but haven’t seen any solution. Wondered if anyone has any more suggestions?

Basically Vital runs fine until I open up the GUI, then it’ll usually crash within about 20 seconds. Ableton support told me the crashes are linked with the DirectX rendering of my 3070.

d3d11|NOutermost::CDevice::FlushDeletionPool, 10.0.22621.6493 (WinBuild.160101.0800) 1 d3d11|CLayeredObject<CDevice>::CContainedObject::QueryInterface, 10.0.22621.6493 (WinBuild.160101.0800) 1 d3d11|CUseCountedObject<NOutermost::CDeviceChild>::Release, 10.0.22621.6493 (WinBuild.160101.0800) 1 d3d11|CLayeredObject<NDXGI::CDevice>::CContainedObject::Release, 10.0.22621.6493 (WinBuild.160101.0800)

1.6.0 released recently which didn’t fix the issue. 1.0.7 seems to work fine, but I have so many instances of Vital across songs using 1.5.5, which means I can no longer use those presets. This problem has only been hapenning for a month or so, possibly linked to updating to Live 12? At some point I also updated my Microsoft .NET framework to 10.0, possibly linked?

Thanks for any help.

So 1.6.2 may have fixed this issue? Before I couldn’t use vital for more than 30 seconds, now I’ve had it open for about 30 minutes and no issues. Hopefully all good!

I have same issue, Vital 1.6.2 still crashing.

I also had some luck with version 1.0.7, have you tried that? I’m not sure if it’s compatible though with presets from newer versions, so I never really used it.

Vital 1.5.5 also works fine for me. Maybe I should clean reinstall 1.6.2 or downgrade to 1.5.5.

Yeah, as far as I’m aware the new 1.6 versions don’t add a lot? So definitely just use the version that works for you, I don’t think you’ll be missing out.

I decided to check it out, and it turns out that 1.6.0 works fine too, the crashes start happening from 1.6.1 through 1.6.4. I hope Matt fixes this soon.
