Yeah thats the one really !! Too many updates in a small space of time , not good !! They arent updates r n d updates – we can hope for more soon
If it works and gives you exactly what you want, what makes it old? All Matt needs to do, is to keep it up to date with OS updates.
totaly agree , well said
What do you mean too many updates? You’re not forced to update. Come on, let Tytel work. It’s awesome they’re on it again.
totaly agreed good news
Is it just me or is the synth sounding and behaving considerably different? Feels kinda outside of the norm,.
I feel like he is playing games with us. I wont install until i receive any information on this.
« Souding different »? That would be quite surprising. Do you have any specific examples?
minor point looks different finer graphs i think
Just turn the phase randomization up
Doesn’t happen on Windows VST3 nor CLAP nor standalone 1.6.4.
I did an A/B test icluding a NULL test. It is identical.
Hey, I’m just telling the results. Try it for yourself.
@JoeGranny There is a version 1.6.4 available now. I found the 1.6.1, .2 and .3 to be acting weird. 1.6.4 seems much better now in my opinion. Perhaps try the latest version now.
Yeah, I got it the same day it was released 18 days ago.
does seem a good one
i just installed 1.6.4 on Win 11 and it won’t start at all, has anybody else seen this, is there a fix for it
nevermind, I went back to 1.0.7
[FIXED]
Used:
rm -rf ~/.BitwigStudio/index
rm -f ~/.BitwigStudio/cache/vst-metadata*
1.6.4 on Fedora 44 seems fine other than the following. The clap version I could not enter my email and product code and after I entered it on the VST3 version the clap version would no longer load, but the VST3 version is fine.
Error from BitWig Studio 5.3: [2026-06-23 06:56:54.427 notifications error] Error loading files: /usr/lib/clap/Vital.clap
ch.toguaudioline.talbassline101: No plugin found in file with sub path ch.toguaudioline.talbassline101
/usr/lib/clap/Vital.clap
ch.toguaudioline.talbassline101: Not of correct type
This is a super weird error obviously. Not sure why there’s crossover from the tal plugin and vital. I used the rpm installer. They are located in different directories as well. Most of my plugins are installed in ~/.clap, ~/.vst3 etc where vital is the only one in /usr/lib./clap/vital.clap.
I checked bigtwig plugin scanner and no errors reported.
i dont hear nor see anything different so i dont really think there is any point from upgrading 1.5.5 to 1.6.+ if there was no major updates. just saying bc of preset compatibility and how stable 1.5.5 has been for awhile for the majority of users here yk?
