Vital 1.5.1 Crashes on Launch

Thank you for the good tip, it could work but not in my case.

I hope the crash and the empty black window issues are not due to new graphic libraries demanding cutting edge graphic cards, the priority of a synth should not be the visual effects but the sound quality.

A possible solution for the dev team to add the possibility to start without animations, the first time.

If it really is only a Graphics driver issue, then how come my old PC from 2014 loads Vital 1.5.5, but my new one with an I7 Motherboard and newer graphics just crashes, I have even updated the driver for the Intel HD 3500 graphic card, but no dice, it crashes in the stand alone and in FL 21. I am at a loss and I have a whole set of presets that I created on my older PC specifically for my type of spooky music, but just can’t access them now in my new PC, it’s very frustrating.

You could test if it’s a Graphics issue by installing 1.0.7 and see if you can open that one.

Yeah, I know 1.0.7 works as I tried it already, but how can a newer graphics card be causing the issue when a much older graphics card that isn’t even updated works fine!!

That’s a technical problem I can not solve for you

Is it an integrated or discrete Graphics card ?

Its an integrated graphics card. I don’t know who to ask about this, I really need to be able to use version 1.5.5 due to the sounds I have created, and some sound packs I have bought, they are all for version 1.5.5, so using version 1.07 is not an option for me. I have removed Vital totally for now and just hope that a fix will come soon!!

the crash is not affected by os version. people have it on windows 11 as well as windows 7. the gfx card is also not affecting the crash; some have new extremely fast gfx cards and still experience the crash whereas on older pc with old gfx card vital works fine. im on win 7 with gtx 980 and vital is crashing everytime. doesnt matter if it’s standalone or vst either. i tried disabling the driver and vital crashes but it’s not even showing anything. when driver is enabled the crash shows a black turning to white background then crashes after 2 secs. mr tytel switched from opengl to directx 11 from version 1.5.1 and onwards but someone who has directx 12 still gets the same crash. another guy who experiences the crashes had gtx 460 se, then switched to gtx 770 and vital worked fine. so it’s probably hardware plus directx combination issue. my crash log shows this:

3: UnhandledExceptionFilter + 0x160
4: longjmp + 0xc2f5
5: _C_specific_handler + 0x8c
6: _chkstk + 0x9d
7: RtlInitializeResource + 0x53a
8: KiUserExceptionDispatcher + 0x2e
22: configthreadlocale + 0x92
23: BaseThreadInitThunk + 0xd
24: RtlUserThreadStart + 0x1d

good luck to us all!
