It would have been nice to have an effect or some such feature that would allow you to adjust the stereo width after applying chorus or reverb.

You could use the spread or the rotate knob to manage mono compatibility.
( with the advanced unison stereo knob too. )
For wider a signal, the chorus or the delay are really useful tools.
