If there’s a workaround to this one, I don’t know it; I’d like the ability to use the playhead time from the host sequencer as the value fed to the random generator, rather than taking whatever for the seed value and iterating through it. That way, random sequences play back the same way time every time you play through the song, and isolating specific sections of the song for tweaking/modulation is more predictable because you know that the generated sound you’re hearing is what you’re always going to hear in that section.
I tend to shy away from using randomness in all but the most subtle ways in Vital because if the sound isn’t broadly, IDK, “isotropic”(?) then it winds up being difficult to manipulate or automate in the context of a song, since every playthrough it does something different.
