Program change still not supported?

Program change isn’t supported?

I don’t believe there has been any update on this since Matt’s comment back in January

I’m new to Vital and really love its interface and sound, but I can’t consider it a serious synthesizer worthy of monetary support without MIDI program change capability. I’m a MIDI veteran and what I’d consider power user and when I decided to install and test Vital, I just assumed program changes from my controllers would just be available as a no-brainer function. I’m shocked workarounds are the acceptable answer. It’s great that it’s “free”/low-cost, but missing functionality like this will help it remain in that category.

EDIT: After posting and reviewing, I feel as though I came across as unappreciative of the effort involved in this project and that’s not the tone I meant to present. As a past (retired) developer of free software utilities, I hated a post that came across like that. What I’d really like to say is I love Vital (a lot), but I can’t use it without such important functionality except on a very limited basis.

It really is a shame. I love Vital, I’m also a veteran and I still recommend it to anyone learning synthesis. If you need program changes (like I do for improvised sessions without screen) I recommend Pigments, it has Program Change playlists too, so as many 127 slots playlists you need. I started using Pigments for the Program Change and the cool granular engine with 6 samples slots… I still use both Vital and Pigments, love them both for different reasons

Thanks for the suggestion. I have a bunch of synths, both hardware and virtual, and the Wavestate Native is my #1 goto in the vst world right now. Vital was really a “what’s all the fuss about” test and it mixes well with the wavestates, but I was bummed out when the program changes failed. Just to throw in another synth that’s free, I’ve been using Surge XT and it’s a good one.
