It doesn’t. A workaround which requires no payment is to use MPC Beats, Akai’s free DAW. Since you can load it as an AAX plugin inside Pro Tools, and inside it load Vital as a VST

With a little organization when it comes to saving presets—and depending on your project—you can open Vital as a standalone application, route its output to the Avid bridges, and capture it onto your audio track. It’s not ideal, but it works well for sound design in post-production. For me, it’s a good solution for the type of projects I work on.
