Oscillator mute/solo

Hi (first post here - love Vital, great work),

Self explanatory really, I’d like to be able to mute/solo oscillators.

I know you can turn them on/off, however this affects things like FM via other oscillators and so on.

Many thanks,
Chris/Macker

I’m not really sure I’ve seen many synths with this feature, since the work to implement it far exceeds simply turning the osc volumes up and down?
Maybe I misunderstand but you could also map a macro to be a toggle switch for this effect if you need it to do something live/while performing

ideally, how would you like to operate the feature? because as it stands you can use a macro and map it to the oscillator volume so the knob acts like a toggle, and automate it from the DAW. it shouldn’t affect fm since fm still works even if the volume is turned down

I’ve actually thought about this when experimenting. For menit would be just a/b’ing with and without the osc output to see how much and how the patch changes f.ex. with subtle outputs or for sanity checks and so. It’s doable with the volume knob but sometimes it’s annoying to try to find the same volume setting. Not like this would be top priority for me if I’d need to choose, but it has its uses.

No extra solo/mute buttons have to be visible, it would also be enough to right-click on the osc or something like that to trigger the function…

Or just modifier-click that one

I don’t want to modulate it because of any special effects, I just want to quickly and easily listen to an osc individually.

Fortunately, there is still enough space in the vertical osc bar for a solo button

We also need mute functionality that mutes the output without turning the osc off f.ex. for modulation purposes.
