I am currently working on a dark pop song and I’ve found this amazing pluck sound design in Disease by Lady Gaga. I’ve been trying to make something similar, but I can’t figure out how there’s a sub and a high frequency hit at the same time, while the mids have a little longer attack. Going off the reverb, it sounds like there’s a triangle wave with some sort of metallic sample or wavetable and a sine or filtered saw wave for the sub. Any idea how I should approach this would be really helpful.

Hey sorry the link doesn’t open properly on my soundcloud app
Any chance you could provide a time stamp in the song?
But trust your instincts there could certainly be more than one synth sound layered to get the final product
Ohh, I have no idea what the problem could be…
It’s at 0:19 in the intro and the post-chorus after the first chorus. Maybe it’s layered with an overprocessed bass guitar pluck or something like that😅
Gotcha! Just wanted to make sure it was indeed the main stab thing you were talking about
It does sound like an overall simple saw-ish filtered wub/pluck type sound, but clearly layered with the impact of the kick (stab actually sounds sidechained to the kick)
hey @zsomborgregor i literally just came across this youtube short, certainly not in my normal recommend content but thanks algorithm haha check this out:
you can hear the basses on their own towards the end!
Thank you so much! I was thinking about trying to layer it with the kick or try to find some pitched bass impact. Actually, I went through this whole “interview” the short is from😅But she didn’t break down the synths, only the basses but I think there’s might be a layer on a higher pitch of the second bass line as reffered to in the short.
