MAC, running MONTERREY 12.76

VITAL, running Version 1.0.7
MY PLAN: MONTHLY RENTAL PLAN

  1. PROBLEM: For the past 6 months or so, the monthly AUTO DOWNLOAD/INSTALL of latest Version and PRESETS ceased to function.
  2. PROBLEM: Vital Desktop APP: I can LOGIN, intermittently.
  3. PROBLEM: Again, using the Desktop APP, once LOGGED IN, clicking on ANY Preset brings up the following ERROR MESSAGE: " ERROR OPENING PRESET. There was an error open preset, Preset was created with a NEWER VERSION. " This, despite the fact there is NO NEWER VERSION.
  4. Using my [has never been changed since Day 1] screen name and password, I CAN consistently LOGIN on the VITAL website.
  5. So, from the website, I began Manually downloading & installing the Banks per my plan: “Subscriber Pack 2.vitalbank” for example. I close the APP, reopen it, scroll through the BANKS–Subscriber Pack 2 is not in the list. Whether picking from PRESETS or Selecting Banks, then presents within a BANK, about 50% work while the other half generate the ERROR from #3 above.
  6. MAYBE I should DELETE VITAL completely and reinstall it all. Off top of my head, I don’t know whether or not a BIG DELETE would lose presets installed long ago…

IF DELETE and START OVER is THE PLAN, I’d love to hear from anyone. MAINLY, it would be so nice to get back to the monthly AUTO INSTALL of everything VITAL, to keep me up to date. THANKS!!

Hello. Monthly DONATION, got it. I was thinking of my Phase Plant plan, where monthly payments accrue towards a purchase option.

I’ll install 1.5.5 and see if things smooth out. Not sure where I latched on to 1.0.7…

It must be the EARLY ACCESS plan I signed up for (version 1.5.5)

Well it does accumulate, but you can use those credits to biy presets, boy the synth. So it’s not a rent-to-own plan like kHs offers.

Cheers, the early access version should do away your plights.

Thanks. I bought the PRO (EARLY ACCESS) version and installed 1.5.5.
I opened the synth in Cubase, logged Out and back In–the auto download did it’s thing and I installed it.
Looking at YOUR PACKS (at the bottom of the PLAN PAGE, I see that some of the PACK NAMES didn’t
make it in the download…or at least I don’t see the Bank Name in the Vital synth list. For example, Kyurumi Pack 1 is indicated as one of mine on the website, but doesn’t show in my synths’s bank list. And I’m guessing that a PACK 2 or PACK 3 corresponding to an already existing bank name does not get a standalone bank name in Vital, but the new presets are merged with the pre-existing originally used bank name.

If you’re unsure if the packs have actually downloaded and installed you can find them at the bottom of the download page. There you can download them individually and install them manually after downloading them.

Thanks! I did two tests:

  1. I downloaded a purchased Bank of presets/saamples/wavetables offered on the VITAL site. I installed the bank and it worked fine, including the Bank Name appearing in the list of Banks.
  2. I repeated the SAME, selecting various Banks in the list of YOUR PACKS. None of these appeared to install in Vital and the PACK NAME did not appear in the Preset Browser Pack List. No idea WHY the outcome difference… I tried logging out/logging in. I closed and reopened Cubase, reloaded vital and logged in. And I tried opening Vital standalone version, all to no effect.

You can go to Vital - Store and have a look at the preset names and see if those are installed. F.ex. Kyurumi Pack 1 installs in the folder /Vital/Unsystematic Fragmentation/Pack 1.

Also, try searching in the browser for “Kyurumi”.
