Hello all, first off I love Vital and use it all the time. However, since fully migrating to Bitwig on Linux, I have had a hell of a time getting the CLAP version of Vital to cooperate!
SYSTEM INFO
Distro: CachyOS
DE/WM: Wayland-Based (Hyprland)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9
GPU: Hybrid (AMD iGPU, Nvidia RTX 4060 dGPU)
DAW: Bitwig Studio 6
Vital Installation Method: This AUR Package AUR (en) - vital-synth (also tried the .zip for versions newer than 1.5.5)
THE ISSUE
When I launch the CLAP version of Vital in Bitwig 6 for Linux, it opens but displays a completely black interface. I’m able to scale it and play audible notes in it. Upon attempting to close the window, Vital appears to crash. The VST3 version is unaffected whatsoever.
ATTEMPTED FIXES
-opening bitwig and vital using X11/Xwayland
-reinstalling vital
-installing different versions of vital (1.5+)
CLAP (Left) and VST3 (Right) side-by-side
Yes I am aware that Hyprland is a bit of a silly choice for a music production setup. I use it for other stuff too and don’t want to have to manage two Linux installs just to make my DAW/VSTs work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ![]()
