Everytime I post a link to a video it only shows the link and doesnt show the video thumbnail or allow people to just watch the video on the forum, anyone know how to post it so it does?

it works when you copy the link from youtube. the link you used looks different 
For links to generate “oneboxes” (this is how they are called in Discourse), they need to be in a new line on their own. See for example

but you are right, it just need to be in a seprate line.
