How to map velocity in FL studio

I am a vital pro user so I have all the features but one thing that seems to be missing (in FL at least) is the ability to easily control note velocity in the piano roll?

I like to try out multiple presets like most of us and 99% of them aren’t mapped to velocity. What’s the solution? I don’t fancy doing it manually for hundreds of presets.

There’s a voice amp velocity sensitivity knob in the lower part of the synth. Takes literally 2 seconds after loading the preset up to adjust it where you roughly want it to be.

What is it labelled as?

Let me clarify the scenario though. I know how to manually adjust volume of a patch but I want to draw notes in piano roll and then set velocities there and that information should be sent to Vital so that when I flick patches I can do it efficiently.

Vital recognizes noteon velocity so if that’s not doing anything you need to adjust that, map something to velocity mod panel or something isn’t working as it should in your system.

The knob is called “Vel track” or something iirc.

Thanks but it’s pretty well documented that in FL studio Vital doesn’t pick up velocity mapping which is why I came on here. Maybe I’m just not explaining it very well.

Wdym with “velocity mapping”? If FL isn’t following midi spec then it’s probably FL that should change things.

I’m not saying it isn’t an FL problem. I was hoping that there was a workaround to the problem. It exists. Who’s fault it is doesn’t really concern me. I am looking for a solution to it.

Gotcha. The best you could possibly find is a workaround. I was saying that just to highlight that if you haven’t it wouldn’t hurt to message FL support about the issue. Good luck with your quest!

Cheers dude. FL support drew a blank.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a workaround. If the preset itself does not already have velocity mapped, I would assume no DAW will automatically have velocity adjust the volume of the patch.

You could see if MPE function have any effect on it though? Don’t have mpe stuff so I haven’t tried that
