I want to create a wavetable which is just two instances of a waveform where one is at pitch 0 (unison) and the other is at pitch +7 (a stacked fifth). No matter how I try to do this with Vital it sounds poor. Resynthesizing my preset to wavetable with one of the oscillators at +7 sounds bad and I know you’re supposed to have your oscillators at 0 but is there no way around this? I also tried exporting the wavetables as .wavs, mixing two together with one at pitch 0 and one at pitch 7 and then importing back to vital but that also sounded bad. Any ideas?
Wavetables can’t reproduce most pitches in 12 EDO accurately which could contribute to your problem. If you want to resynthesize you could try setting the tuning to just, producing prefect intervals irt C with the built-in tuning option. That might not help though, since the resynthesize doesn’t play C afaik. Also, you can use unison modes to stack fifths so you don’t necessarily need the wavetable. Also, you can use the wavetable editor to mix sines in fifths if that’ll do.
