For the sake of the experiment: Envelope Chooser Patch. Choose one of 4 envelopes dynamically

This patch is just an experiment which you might use as inspiration …
It makes use of the LFO start Phase to mimik “different envelope styles”. General use case is a 1/16 base sequence, where you just play each 16th and this patch shows how you can control “envelope style for each of the 1/16” …

First thing to note: Each note is only 1/16 long (LFO2 → OSC Volume) that is important.

Now there’s an interesting play between LFO1 (Filter 1 Mod) and LFO3 (Start Phase of LFO1)
Now look into LFO1: LFO1 mimiks 4 different “Envelopes” with different decay curve. Each Sub-Envelope is exactly 1/16 long(remember LFO2 for the note lenght!).

You may ask: How is a sub envelope chosen? Simply by adjustig the Start-Phase of the envelope. Say you start LFO1 not at 0% but at 50% then you choose the third sub-envelope.

How is then the Phase controlled? Look into LFO3. it is an LFO in Point Cycle Mode, i.e. when ever you press a key it goes to the next point. And these points are arranged in a way, that they select the start phase of LFO1 … valid values are 0% (sub env 1), 25% (sub env 2), 50% (sub env 3), 75% (sub env 4).

As soon as you have wrapped your head around … you might have fun with it. My experiment only uses very simple sub envelopes. but nothing keeps you from doing more complicated stuff, or even do more different ones …
