It’s relatively easy to map a MIDI device in Reaper and-or Ableton Live now, but not so when running most standalone virtual synthesizers. Until we get MIDI 2.0 plug-n-play, life would be so much easier to have just a wee bit of automated assistance in mapping MIDI control switches, expression pedals, and guitar controllers that don’t fit inside the universally presumed keyboard profiles.
An added bonus would be to have the option of a Virtual Fretboard alternative to the common Virtual Keyboard.
