Can not drag and drop a sample from the arrangement view to Sampler in Vital because Cubase doesn’t send some events instead it sends XML and I guess it is something that the developers should implement. Although most of the other plugins also don’t support Cubase’s drag n drop, so I guess it’s not a big deal
Is it a wav file or a cubase format?
Like in ableton you’ll likely need to drag n drop the actual wav file and not cubase format for stuff
So in ableton, you need to consolidate the clip and then find it in the Samples folder of that project, can drag n drop from there
Wondering if it’ll be something similar for Cubase
It’s wav but Cubase doesn’t send "a file has been dropped” event. The plugin dev must handle the thing that Cubase send (some XML with path to the file, I don’t know). Drag n drop into Kontakt, Phase Plant, Atlas and many other synths (Glitch Machines) doesn’t work. But it works for internal plugins and Serum. So I guess some devs know how to handle this.
Yeah maybe you need to find it in Windows Explorer or Finder (Mac) and drag the wav from its actual location?
Or that still doesn’t work?
You should also be able to add other folders to your sample area by saving then in the appropriate user folder ( User, Samples) in the folders for Vital, usually in C:/User/Documents
Yes, I can do both of those things, but I’d like to be able to drag samples directly from the arrangement view as I create audio renders. It’s tedious to open the file explorer and search for them there - it’s an instant workflow killer, you know.
I know it’s possible if Matt Tytel decides to add this feature, so let’s endorse it!
Definitely, id make a post in the Feature Request section of the forum, as this isn’t really a bug.
Yeah it’s a bit tedious, idk about cubase but ableton let’s you right click and Show in Explorer so it’s only a couple clicks atleast
