Can you make interesting generative music in Vital? PT. II

so there was this post by platipo a couple years ago. he made this very interesting generative patch consisting of disconnected consecutive events all triggering randomly.

then Moose made a similar patch but w a continuous flow of sound rather than disconnected consecutive events. but it was made in Vital 1.5.5 and i cannot run that. like others i am only able to run 1.0.7. which is fine. but i would very much like to know the details of the patch of Moose

could someone talk about the details? w platipo i can see how everything is done in the video. how did Moose create his patch w an identical overall aim but for continuous sound flow? what are the differences?

as much said as possible would be ideal

I’mma just tag @Moose if theyre still around, any insight?

Well, I honestly think making it a continuous flow is actually easier, what I thought was my bigger challenge 2 years ago was getting something akin to an end of cycle function, something which I kind of obtained using LFOs random generators and lots of remapping;
it you want a continuous stream of sound is easy… well, provided you don’t care it makes sense of course :smiley:

Making it sensible, yet not too static is kind of the challenge here,I made this patch this morning, which I think summarizes the ideas I get right on top of my head if trying to make something in that direction

I haven’t been following my own channel for a while, and I forgot many things I’ve done, but I’m pretty sure I had discussed these things, probably in some ancient video… could be a good time to make a new one maybe.

i downloaded this patch straightway but could not open it - 1.5.5 (im on 1.0.7

thank you so much though for doing that. it is greatly appreciated

but since 1.5 is now available for everyone for free I can’t but wonder… why are you on 1.0.7? there’s LOADS of good stuff in the 1.5

oh yeah i know - it looks great… but i cannot run it on my computer. it crashes Reaper every time.

so i had to revert to 1.0.7

i wonder why it’s crashing Reaper… i’m running 1.55 on the latest Reaper with no problem
