Very simple feature, basically just add the ability to set names for things like LFOs and envelopes like you can already do for macros
I’ll give an example as to why this would be useful; I recently made a kick generator patch with these parameters:
- Osc 1 is the fundamental frequency
- Osc 2 is the even harmonics of the fundamental (filtered using wtpos)
- Osc 3 is the odd harmonics of the fundamental (filtered using wtpos)
- LFO 1 automates the pitch bend
- LFO 2 is the full kick envelope (post fx, voice amplitude is either just 1 or 0)
- LFO 3 automates noise level
- LFO 4 automates stereo separation
as you can see, if I were to give this patch to someone they’d most likely have issues figuring out what each control does. The ability to set comments for patches is useful, sure, but its still not as convenient and straight forwards as just directly setting names for things. Not only that but if these labels were displayed in the matrix section it would make things a lot more readable and easier to edit and maintain
