Maybe you can try to install it manually

Then try to change the folder. Not system folders (“Program Files”, “Documents”, “Program Data”). Create new folder somewhere else.
Or start DAW as administrator. It seems that installer doesn’t have rights it needs.
Or start Vital standalone with administrator rights.
Ususally that means right click on an icon or an executable where you need to pick “Start as administrator” or something similar.

I recommend running the Standalone version of Vital via Admin/Root/Sudo privileges and it should work

I had to import the presets.

I remembered the install downloaded a file called FactoryContent.VitalBank, which I had no idea what to do with so I left it in my Downloads. Then I clicked Import from within Vital and pointed to the downloaded file.
